I recently heard of the movie Rental Family, and I already knew I’d want to see it because Brendan Fraser was the main character in the movie. I have always loved his work and think he does an amazing job acting. If he is in a movie, I’m most likely going to watch it. I’m so glad I was able to see this movie too, I thought it was really good. I love all that he stood for in this movie. A very good family friendly movie this was. It is set in Tokyo, and a lot of it is in Japanese, but it’s such a great movie, that it was easy to follow with the captions and such. It is certainly a movie that I would say would be worth watching. I loved it a lot.
Film Synopsis
Set in modern-day Tokyo, Rental Family follows an American actor (Brendan Fraser) who struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese “rental family” agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers. As he immerses himself in his clients’ worlds, he begins to form genuine bonds that blur the lines between performance and reality. Confronting the moral complexities of his work, he rediscovers purpose, belonging, and the quiet beauty of human connection.
