Sally Hansen/NYC Review

If you love makeup then you must check out Sally Hansen and New York Color. They have a lot of great makeup to choose from. I especially love their nail polish and the mascara. I’ve never used any of their products til now. I’m very excited to have had the opportunity to review some of the products from both lines.

I received a lot of different items from both companies. I got six different colors of nail polish, liquid eyeliner, mascara, color quick fast dry, and the salon gel polish starter kit. I love everything that I received too.

My daughters and I tried all of the nail polishes. I would have to say that my favorite ones were the Sally Hansen fuzzy coat and the Sally Hansen lustre shine. (on the bottom far right) We do however really love all the glitter nail polish. We are all about being sparkly so the kids were excited to try out those ones. I love to use the glitter polishes after applying a coat of a regular color nail polish. I definitely love all of these. We will definitely be buying more of these soon.

I tried out the NYC curl and volume mascara and liquid eyeliner. I really like the eyeliner but I was having some difficulties trying to get it to really work and darken. It seems that I had to push down really hard just to get this to work out. This was my first time using liquid eyeliner so I’m not sure how it’s suppose to be. The mascara was great though. I really love how it makes your eyelashes look longer and they curl more. You can see in my photo above what the mascara looked like after I applied it.

I really love the salon gel polish starter kit. This was my first time using any kind of gel polish. I wasn’t sure how this was going to work out, but it turns out that it was great. I love the way my nails looked and they were very shiny and smooth.

The first thing you want to do when using the salon gel polish, is to get your nails clean. Make sure to cut and file them down to the size you want. Also make sure to push back your cuticles and use the cleanser pads to get your nails clean.

The next thing you’ll want to do is apply the base coat. You want to make sure to apply a thin coat.

You can then put your nails in the LED lamp. (only 4 fingers at a time) You want to wait for 30 seconds before taking your fingers out. The light will automatically shut off after 30 seconds.

The next step is to apply the gel nail color. The color I had chosen was the color of “wine not.” You can apply a thin coat of the gel nail color and then put your fingers under the LED lamp again. Once you’re done with that you’ll want to apply another coat of gel nail color and use the LED lamp again.

Next you want to apply the gel top coat. Make sure to apply a thin coat and use the LED lamp afterwards. Then the final step is to cleanse again with one of the cleanser wipes.

Once everything is all done you’ll get beautiful looking nails. Mine were very shiny and smooth. Regular nail polish could never look this good. I can really tell the different in gel polish versus nail polish. There is a huge difference but I love them both.

I love all of the NYC and Sally Hansen products. I am very happy to have had the chance to try them all out. If you love make up/nail polish as much as I do then you’re going to love these products.
