Summertime Fun With OjO Games

My daughters and I have been playing a lot of board games together lately. We have always been a family that loves to play board games. With it being summer and we can’t get to some places this year because of what’s all been going on around the world, we love to turn to games. It’s something we have been doing for years. There are so many wonderful games to play out there too. One of our recent favorites, are from OjO Games.

About OjO Games

OjO Games is a pioneering educational toy company for young future innovators. They make problem-solving kits based around real-world problems that stimulate children’s curiosity, creativity and critical thinking skills, brought to life by a family of characters, playful narrative and colourful design.

They are STREAM (Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Math) game specialists. Their mission is to enrich families by providing “A Smarter Way to Play”, inspiring learning through open-ended play. They design fun games and toys, whether you’re shopping for extra-curricular activities or a special gift, they have the games and toys to truly make an impact on your child’s life.

Shape Factory

Players must work together while one builds an image out of shapes and the other tries to guess what it is. Guess correctly and together move along the production line towards the finish line. Build spatial awareness, imagination and collaboration skills.

Shape Factory is a lot of fun for us because you get to make different things out of shapes. While you’re making something with the shapes, everyone else gets to try to guess what you’re making. It’s been so much fun trying to guess what everyone is trying to make. We could even make some of your own things out of the shapes. We’ve done things similar to this before, but we love that this is made into a game. It’s more fun this way.

Movie Director

Direct your own mini-movies and solve maths problems at the same time. The Movie Director Educational Board Game offers a new way to build maths skills, problem solving and imagination, all while having fun with family and classmates!

In the movie director game, you get to be the director! This was one tons of fun since you got to be the director yourself. It’s like directing your very own movie through a game! Of course there is some math involved as well. I really enjoyed that they had some math involved with this. That way the kids get to have fun as well as learn. Those are the best games.

Story Creations

Traverse a wacky world of your creation by completing mini story challenges. Boost communication skills, learn about storytelling techniques and have a good laugh at the fantastical stories that come out!

This game was a lot of fun for us. My kids love making up their own stories, so they really enjoyed this one. You get to move around to different islands and make up stories along the way. Each of these cards have different things on them that you have to use in your stories. For example: one may say something about a scorpion wanting to drink some milk, along with photos of a cave, orange and start. That means you have to use all of those in your stories. There is also a spinner you have to spin to see what you get. There are things like loud, quiet, running, ect. You’ll have to use those to act out your story too. For example, if you got loud, you’d want to tell the story in loud voice. It really gets everyone in to the game. We’ve had a blast with this one.

Which Way? Game

The Which Way? Coding Board Game is an exciting strategy game for 4-8 year olds. Children will love learning key coding skills as they lay out routes across the map. Help the self-driving digger reach all its destinations and build the Future City!

This game was definitely my daughters favorite. They had a lot of fun with this one. We love that it’s more of an interactive game. It’s magnetic, so you get to try to get the truck to the correct spot. There is a spinner that you will be spinning to see which points you need to get to. You’ll use the magnets to make a path along the way. For example, you may get the future city and windmill islands. That means you start from the starting point, go to future city, and then end at windmill islands.

These OjO Games have all been so much fun. They have really helped make our summer better. We are a family that enjoys playing board games a lot. The fact that these are all fun and educational is great too. Those are the kinds of games I love for my children. They get to learn and have fun at the same time.

These games look like so much fun and I can see that children can really let their imaginations soar! I especially love the movie making game. My nieces always act out skits and I can see them creating their own movies.

I like that it is a lot of pieces and so hands on. You have to think to play it and that is so much better. Thinking is what is taken out of some games.

I try to do games like this so that the electronics are used less. Luckily my kids are pretty good at finding things to do that don’t involve electronics.
