Tips for Fall Leaf Removal

Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year. I love it when the leaves are changing colors and the weather is usually warm. It’s not to hot or cold out, and you can enjoy the beautiful weather. One thing that does come with fall, is leaves. If you have trees in your yard with many leaves, then you know they’re going to get everywhere. It can be a pain to clean them all up too. I personally hate raking up leaves, which is why I love the WORX cordless leaf blower. It makes it easier to clean up all the leaves that fall off the trees. I have some tips for fall leaf removal that I hope will help you as you remove leaves from your yard.

About The 40v Share Volt Turbine Cordless Leaf Blower

TURBINE fan technology delivers forceful, high-capacity air volume (340 CFM)

2-speed design to tackle any job, from light-duty cleaning to full leaf removal on any surface

Cordless convenience to quickly clean up your outdoor spaces such as decks or patios

Lightweight and ergonomic one-hand operation

Features a Hyper-Stream air nozzle for extra tough conditions

Powerful 40V MaxLithium battery delivers double the runtime along with faster charging

This leaf blower has all the necessary parts to make it work great. It comes with some attachments and two batteries. You’ll need both batteries for this leaf blower to work. This product works great at cleaning up all the leaves in your yard. My family has been having fun using the leaf blower too. Even my kids enjoy cleaning up the yard with it.

Batteries

This leaf blower is extremely easy to use. All you have to do is make sure both of the batteries are in. I would recommend charging both of the batteries right away before you use it for the first time. It comes with a charging station so that you’re able to charge them. They even have a button on the battery packs so that you can tell how much of a charge they have. I love that they have this so that I’ll be able to tell when they are going to start needing a charge soon. It’s nice to have that instead of the battery dying on  you before you know it’s to late.

Now all you have to do is turn the switch on to one, two or three. The lowest mode is one, and the highest is three, or turbo if you want to use that option. The red turbo button is if you want it to blow out air harder. This option will blow it out the most and do a wonderful job at getting those leaves where you want them to be. Of course if you don’t want them blowing around to much, you’d probably want one of the lower settings, like one.

Safety First!

When using a leaf blower, you want to make sure to always be safe. Sometimes when you are blowing leaves with a leaf blower, dust can come back up and move towards you. It is a good idea to have something to protect your eyes, like safety glasses. It’s also a good idea to wear the proper shoes. Boots or good shoes would work best. This is a must, especially if you’re letting your older children work the leaf blower, like my child likes to. We make sure to be careful and use all safety protection while handling it. These tips for fall leaf removal are extremely important when it comes to our safety.

Even my nine (almost ten) year old can use the leaf blower. She actually really enjoys using it too. I’m glad to see how much she enjoys it because it’s a good job for kids. It’s a simple job that they can do to help around the outside of the house. We like to get the leaves all put in a pile with the leaf blower, and then we can easily clean them all up and bag them up.

Leaves Should Be Dry

The leaves should always be dry when you’re using a leaf blower. You don’t want to use it when the leaves are all wet. If they’re wet, they’re just going to stick to the ground and not move. This wouldn’t be any help at all. If it has rained, you may want to wait for them to get dry again.

Watch For Wind

If it’s going to be a windy day, you probably don’t want to clean up the leaves. A leaf blower is going to blow them already, and you don’t want the extra wind while you are using your leaf blower. The wind is just going to make it more of a mess. The leaves will end up all over the place, and all your hard work will be for nothing. Make sure there isn’t a lot of wind when you decide to clean up those leaves.

Above is a before photo of part of my yard with all the leaves. This is before I used the leaf blower to clean them all up. We have leaves all over our yard, so it’s a mess with them.

The photo above is now after using the leaf blower. It did a wonderful job. I’m very happy with the way the product works. It does an excellent job of cleaning up the leaves in my yard. We’ve actually been having fun cleaning up our yard with this leaf blower. It’s a great way to get our family together to do some cleanup in the yard. We’ve enjoyed the time together too.

Clean Up After With A Rake

After using the leaf blower, it’s a good idea to follow up by using a rake. Sometimes when you use a leaf blower, it’s not always enough. There are still extra leaves that are going to be on the ground. You can always use a rake to clean up the extra leaves.

Compost The Leaves

Don’t throw out your leaves! If you have a compost pile, use that for your leaves. These can be great for your garden. They are also great to use around trees, bushes and flowers. If you have the chance, keep those leaves before getting rid of them.

It’s important to follow these tips for fall leaf removal and safety tips in order to properly use the leaf blower and keep yourself safe. My family loves using the WORX leaf blower. It has done a wonderful job at keeping our yard clean from all the leaves. We’re excited to continue to clean up our yard with our leaf blow. It’s been so helpful and time saving for us too.

These sound like some great tips – I was amazed watching our neighbour get rid of some leaves the other week he had a good technique going and was so quick.

We only have one tree that has leaves, and it gets everywhere. You’d think it wouldn’t be bad with one tree, but that’s not the case.

When we lived up North in Boston we spent many days picking up leaves. I was a kid and pay little attention to all that went into this task. Our job was to clean up with a rake and we just played and goofed around.
