Recently I’ve decided I need to live a healthier lifestyle. It’s been a challenge, but I think I’m starting to get better with it. I’ve changed the way I’m eating and I’m exercising a lot more too. I always try to reach my ten thousand steps for the day as well as make sure I do some form of exercise for at least thirty minutes a day. The most challenging part for me, is eating healthier. It’s something I’m working a lot harder on accomplishing though. Luckily I love water, so that part is no problem for me. I just need to make sure I’m drinking plenty of it each day. When your lifestyle changes, most of the times so does your body. Sometimes that can mean occasional constipation. It may be something not many of us want to discuss, but I’d love to help by sharing some tips for occasional constipation.
Before I get it in all of my tips, I’d like to talk more about occasional constipation. I’m a very busy on the go mother. This summer has been very crazy for my family. Since I’m on the go often, I don’t always make great choices when it comes to a healthier lifestyle. Currently this summer I’ve been watching my nieces and nephews, so I’m not always home. In fact, I’m not home that often at all during the summer. I’m always busy and on the go with my kids. Since I’m not home very often, I don’t always make the best choices when it comes to food. Some of my choices often lead to occasional constipation. This is never fun, but thankfully there is MiraLAX®.
MiraLAX® works with your body’s natural process to provide effective relief from occasional constipation. Because it works with the body, MiraLAX® provides a gentle experience, and doesn’t cause harsh side effects. MiraLAX® is different from stimulant laxatives. Stimulant laxative pills make your body go by forcefully stimulating the nerves in your colon. MiraLAX® works with the water in your body to hydrate, soften, and ease, unblocking your system naturally. You want to make sure you always use as directed too. I was easily able to pick up the MiraLAX® in a bottle as well as the MiraLAX® Mix-In Pax from my local Walgreens. I like the Mix-In Pax for on the go, so I can easily place those in my purse, and the bottle stays at home for when I need it.
MiraLAX® can be used with any beverage whether it’s cold, hot or room temperature. I like this because that means I get to add it to any of my beverages of choice, even though water is usually what I use, especially since I’m working on a healthier lifestyle. You only want to use this once a day, for no more than 7 days. So, if you’re ready for some tips on leading a healthier lifestyle, follow below.
1. Choose Water as a Drink
I always put this as the number one, top of my list. I think drinking water is extremely important and it can really help your body. There are no added sugars and it’s a great way to stay hydrated. Other sugary drink may make you thirstier, therefore you may drink more of those sugary drinks, and you don’t want all that added sugar in your diet.
2. Be Active
I know this one can be a bit tough. I try to follow what my doctor tells me, and that’s to be active for at least thirty minutes a day. I love using my activity tracker for watching my steps each day, so that really helps me out. I still try to put in thirty minutes of activity, because that is so important as well. I can’t get ten thousand steps from just working out for thirty minutes though. I need to also make sure I’m up and moving. Another great way, is to stop with things like electronics and get up and move for a while. My job requires me to be on the computer, so I always get up and get away from the computer for a bit and walk around.
3. Get Enough Sleep
Getting the right amount of sleep is very important. This is what can really help you get through your day. You’ll feel less tired and more energized if you get the recommended amount of sleep each day. Sometimes if you don’t sleep enough, you may turn towards eating more, especially junk. Nobody wants that, so make sure you get plenty of sleep everyday.
4. Eat Your Fruits and Vegetables
Eating fruits and vegetables daily is such an important part of my day. I think everyone needs to make sure they’re getting their servings in a day as well. They have so many great vitamins and minerals in them, which are so good for you. I’m lucky enough to love my fruit and vegetables, so hopefully you have some that you love as well!
5. Eat Good Fiber
I think fiber is one that a lot of people might miss. I have been working on getting more fiber in my diet. I know this could really help out with occasional constipation too. Getting the right about of fiber in your diet is great for your gut.
6. Cut Out the Negativity
This is one that I think is also extremely important. I have had to cut out a lot of negativity in my life. There is no time for that for anyone. Nobody should have to deal with any kind of negativity in their lives. This can cause a lot of stress, which is not good for the body. Be around those who are positive and make you feel great.
7. Eat Smaller Meals
Try to eat smaller meals instead of bigger ones. I’m sure we’ve all head this before too. Make sure you’re eating the right portions, and that you’re not over eating. Never eat when you’re not hungry either. You don’t have to finish all your food if you’re not hungry. That is something that I use to struggle with because I hated wasting food, but it’s better on your body if you eat only when you’re actually hungry, so that means you don’t need to finish all your food if you’re full.
7. Prepare Your Own Meals
I always make my own meals when I can. This is great because you know exactly what you’re putting in to those meals. This way you can get all the necessary foods in each day. I love cooking and being in the kitchen, so it shouldn’t be hard for me to put together a great meal. Plus you can save on money this way instead of going out to eat. We all know that going out to eat is never very healthy for us, which is why I love to cook from home.
9. Good Oral Hygiene
This is another one that is high up on my list. I think it’s so important to have good oral hygiene. Make sure to brush your teeth twice a day, floss and rinse. This is going to help with a better lifestyle too. It’s not all about exercise and food, it’s about keeping up with great hygiene too.
10. Go For Routine Checkups
I also think getting all your routine checkups each year is very important. You want to make sure you’re always getting checked out. You never know when something could come up that you would have never noticed. Symptoms could show up late, and sometimes never at all until it’s to late. I’ve always made sure I get my checkups yearly.
I love using MiraLAX® because of how easy it is to use and it mixes right in with your beverages. I can’t even tell its in my water when I use it because there is no flavor, which is great. Make sure to head over to your local Walgreens to pick the MiraLAX® bottle or MiraLAX® Mix-In Pax products. You can save on any MiraLAX® products with this coupon HERE. Now you know what you can do to help with your occasional constipation.
