uKloo Treasure Hunt Literacy Games

12 November, 2018 by KatBp 38 Comments

Do your kids enjoy doing treasure hunts? This is something I do with my kids a lot because they love it. Even when I was a little girl, I loved them as well. They were so much fun to do. Something about being able to hunt for something was always fun for me. Even to this day I still love them! I’m just glad I get to now enjoy doing treasure hunts with my daughters. Their faces always light up when they hear of us doing some treasure hunts. It’s always a fun time!

uKloo has some great treasure hunt games that are already made so you don’t have to make them up yourself. You just take the cards and hide them around the house where they’re suppose to go. This is a really simple way for kids to have a lot of fun.

The uKloo Riddle Edition Treasure Hunt Game that was good for ages 7+ was perfect for my daughters. I have 8 and 9-year-old daughters, and they had a blast with this. Treasure hunts are something they really enjoy doing often. What made this game special, was the cards that you had to read to find the clues. As you can see in the photo above, one of the clues said “always white, sometimes brown, builds your bones when it goes down.” The answer for this one would be milk. Then what you’d do is hide the next card in by your milk.

I love that it also came with a book with hints in it. There are a few levels to this game, so some of them can be a bit tough for kids. My daughters had a hard time with a few of them on the higher level, so I gave them the clues for those. I think it’s great that they had the hint book so that kids can still try to figure it out with a bit of a hint. That always encourages them to continue to think too.

  • GET KIDS THINKING & MOVING: Solve the riddles to find a surprise! The uKloo Riddle Edition is an engaging seek-and-find literacy game that combines thinking skills with physically active fun.
  • GREAT FOR ALL AGES: Budding writers, reluctant readers, ADHD children, autistic kids, and ESL (English as a second language) students. Designed for children ages 7 and up.
  • BOOST PROBLEM SOLVING SKILS: The Hints Booklet promotes the application of logic and reasoning in a second step process, and offers the opportunity for parents and kids to learn about riddle writing.
  • PROMOTE CREATIVE WRITING: The Write your Own Riddle card encourage children to think beyond the literal and work backwards to create clues, and apply newly learned writing techniques.
  • WHAT’S INSIDE: Package includes (75) riddle cards, (1) Hints Helper booklet, (1) Secret Answers list, (1) Write your Own Riddle cards pad, (1) Surprise cards pad, and detailed instructions and tips.

The uKloo Early Reader Treasure Hunt Game is more for younger kids ages 4+. This one is actually great for younger kids because they tell you exactly where to go check. My daughters liked this one too, even though they were able to figure out most of the clues on the other game. This one is just nice because they get to look exactly where it says so on the cards. I have younger nieces and nephews who would love this game too. Most of them can read, so this would be wonderful for them. I think it’s exiting being able to do these treasure hunts with them!

  • JUMP-START INO READING : Find the clues + look up the words = surprise! The uKloo Early Reader Treasure Hunt Game is a multi award-winning concept in educational games.
  • GREAT FOR ALL AGES: Ideal for beginner, young and reluctant readers; ADHD and autistic children; and ESL students. Designed for children ages 4 and up.
  • PARENTAL CONTROL: Parents decide how many cards to use, which cards to use and leave out, and what type of surprise will best motivate the child or be suitable for their circumstances.
  • EVEN MORE SUPRISES: uKloo offers physical active play, builds confidence, promotes independent learning and play; introduces basics of sentence structure, and the opportunity for problem solving.
  • WHAT’S INSIDE: Package includes (54) clue cards, (1) Picture Helper reference poster, (12) blank Surprise cards, (12) blank Write Your Own Clue cards, and easy-to-follow instructions and game ideas.
  • Makes Reading Fun!
  • Promotes Sight Reading
  • Comes with Picture Helper Poster

Overall my daughters had a blast! We are excited to do this again. My youngest has a birthday party over the weekend, and she asked me to do this treasure hunt for her party. I think the kids are going to love it! She wants me to hide all their goodie bags for them to find in the end, which I thought was a great idea too. If your kids love treasure hunts as much as mine, I’d highly recommend these games. They’ll have a blast too!

How fun! These games would be great for two of my nephews! One is in first grade and excels at reading, the other is in Kindergarten and just starting to learn basic sight words.

That really sounds like fun! For most of my extended family, I give them a family gift – usually a new movie, a game, and some treats. This sounds like an excellent one to include.
