Valleyfair Review

Have you ever been to an amusement park? I haven’t been to many but I absolutely love amusement parks. It had been about five years since I’ve been to an actual amusement park. I go to fairs all the time but they’re just not the same. Amusement parks are full of rides and they’re a lot of fun. You can’t go on huge rollercoasters at the fairs, which is why I love amusement parks so much. Recently I was provided with some tickets to go to Valleyfair with my family.

I think it’s a great idea to never tell your kids your going anywhere fun until the day before. I told my kids about Valleyfair and that’s all I heard every day until we finally went. I’m happy they were so excited though. I just knew we were all going to have a lot of fun at Valleyfair. If you’ve never heard of Valleyfair before, it’s an amusement park in Shakopee, MN. They have a lot of kids rides, rollercoasters, a waterpark and much more. I’m sure you will find a lot of rides that you would enjoy, especially if you love the thrill rides.

The day finally arrived when it was time for us to get ready to go to Valleyfair. It takes us about an hour and a half to get there. It might sound like a long ride, but it really isn’t that bad. It’s definitely worth the drive. As you can see, the kids were having a lot of fun on the car ride there. When we started getting closer to Valleyfair they would keep asking if we were there yet. When we were actually almost there they got so excited. They kept talking about the ferris wheel. They’ve always wanted to go on the ferris wheel so now was there chance to go. Once we got there we went to the guest service desk for our tickets and everyone seemed really nice.

The first thing my husband wanted to do when we got there was to go on the rip cord. This is not included when you get your tickets so you have to pay an extra price. This was actually my third time going on a rip cord, my husbands second time and then our friends first time. I definitely recommend going on the rip cord if you’ve never been on it before and you love thrill rides. I love a good thrill ride and the rip cord defiantly gives you the thrill.

Since the girls really wanted to go on the ferris wheel we decided to take them after riding a few other rides ourselves. They had a really good time. I think they really enjoyed being up really high. They don’t mind heights at all. I’m really glad that they enjoy heights. I can look forward to bringing them to Valleyfair again when they get older and tall enough to ride the bigger rides.

They had a whole area dedicated to children which was called Planet Snoopy. They had a lot of rides for the kids as well as this place which was called Peanuts Playhouse. You can see from the photos that my daughters had a lot of fun here. I wouldn’t doubt if we spent at least an hour here. The kids were having so much fun and even us adults were too. They had foam balls and different equipment that could shoot out the balls. I have to say this was one of the highlights of the day. Everyone had a blast here.(Splash Station pictured above)

(Breakers Bay Wave Pool)

Valleyfair has a section just for the waterpark. The Splash Station is a great place for the kids to play in the water. They have tubes for them to lay on and go in a little circle. Then they have some water that sprays out. My kids enjoyed playing here. The wave pool had to be our favorite water area. Once the waves hit my daughters were having so much fun. My youngest daughter kept going after the waves because she loved them so much. If you’ve never been in a wave pool before I definitely recommend it. Everyone had a lot of fun here. We probably stayed here for about an hour. My kids didn’t want to leave this pool since they were having so much fun.

Valleyfair has an adult ride that is called the Power Tower. There are three different towers and two are red and the other is blue. The blue one shoots up fast and the two red ones shoot down fast. Power Tower has always been one of my favorite rides too. I have to say I have a lot of favorite rides at Valleyfair. They were all a ton of fun. My daughters got to go on a ride that was similar to the red Power Tower that shoots down but this is called the Kite Eating Tree. This is just a kids version of the Power Tower. I would have to say this was my kids favorite ride. The look on my youngest daughters face when she went down fast was so funny that I couldn’t help but laugh. Both of my daughters started laughing and having so much fun on this ride. They actually went twice in a row since they had so much fun. I know they’d be happy to go on this ride again.

(Wild Thing)

While my friend and I went off to ride on the Wild Thing, my husband took our daughters on a ride and played some games. The Wild Thing is a rollarcoaster that goes at a speed of 74 mph at the fastest and has the first drop at 200 feet. I thought this ride was amazing. If you love rollarcosters then this is one of them that you must try.

My husband won my daughters a bunch of stuffed animals and of course they choose the monkeys. They love monkey especially the sock monkeys. They have a section just for everyone to play some games so he decided to play a few while my friend and I were off riding a rollarcoaster. As you can see from the photo, my daughters are very happy with their prizes. They have a lot more that my husband won for them but they’re not in this photo, they’re actually in the stroller since they had to many.

When it was nearing the time for Valleyfair to close they had fireworks going off. I thought this was a really neat idea to have some fireworks at closing. It’s a great way to let everyone know that the park is closing and it’s also fun to watch the fireworks. Both of my daughters love the fireworks although my oldest daughter thinks they’re to loud. We all had a lot of fun watching the fireworks.

We all had such a fun time at Valleyfair and we can’t wait to go again. When my kids get a older and taller I definitely will be coming back to Valleyfair. I want to be able to bring them on some of the rollarcoasters because I know they will enjoy them. They seemed to really enjoy all of the other rides and I know they love the thrill of rides. If you are ever around the area of Skakopee, MN you have to check out Valleyfair. I know you will have a lot of fun and so will your family.
