My daughters and I recently went to Valleyfair, which is located in Minnesota, and had such a blast. This is an amusement/theme park with lots of fun rides and activities to do. They recently introduced their new Tricks and Treats event, which is a fun Halloween event. There are a lot of great activities for kids to do. I love that they added in more Halloween stuff for kids. You’ll find a lot of Halloween decorations around the whole park.
As soon as you enter Valleyfair, you’re always greeted. They usually have someone take your photo as well, and when you leave you can buy the photo. I always love that. Of course you can always take your own photos all throughout the park as well. It’s just nice to have many different options of photos placed throughout the park. Some of the rides will even take photos while you’re on them, which is mostly the rollercoasters. It’s a lot of fun seeing those photos. You’ll also see that they decorated a lot around the park for Halloween, and we love it!
I was able to take my father along with us. My husband had to work the day we went, so I asked my father to come along with us. The kids and I love spending quality time with him too. There were a lot of great photo opportunities around the park, so we snapped up some great photos with everyone.
Check out all these amazing spooks that were all throughout the park. Amazing, right?! I couldn’t pass up snapping some photos of these. They did such an amazing job with this. My family and I loved seeing these everywhere. They had such great ideas. Everything really made it festive and feel so much like Halloween. Great job to everyone who came up with all these great decorations around the park.
You’ll find so many great photo opportunities all around the park. We had to stop and snap some photos along the way. I couldn’t miss taking some of these photos. They did such a great job decorating the whole theme park. I love it!
With this new Tricks and Treats event, they had both a land of tricks and a land of treats. Each of these places had their own activities for kids to do and lots of entertainment. The Land of Tricks offers two realms with everything slimy, sinister, and strange: Ickyville and Spooky Spires. The Land of Treats includes two uniquely festive areas: Everfall and Sweet Tooth Acres.
Sweet Tooth Acres Candy Barn was really neat to see. What an amazing job they did with this. Lots of fun treats were put all over this barn. How fun is this?!
The candy ladies were amazing! I absolutely loved their costumes, especially the one with all the cupcakes. We thought that was such a unique costume. They were all so nice and offered to let my daughter take a photo with them. Very sweet ladies.
Kids can even go trick or treating around the trick or treat trail. They’ll be able to go pass by many doors and get some candy. If your kids enjoy trick or treating every Halloween, then they won’t want to miss this.
They even had some Halloween themed games set up so that kids could play. This part did cost extra if you wanted them to play though. They had some fun prizes that the kids could win too. There were four different games to play, and you are a winner no matter what. Kids will always get a prize if they play. I love that they let the kids get a prize even if they didn’t win. I know how frustrated some kids can get if they don’t win a prize, so I thought that was really nice. My daughters both won two prizes each. They won some Halloween Squishmallows and a shark.
Of course you can’t forget about all the rides when you’re at Valleyfair. That is always one of the best parts. My daughters have an absolute blast when they get to go on all the rides. At Valleyfair, there are so many wonderful rides. One of my daughters favorite rides is the monster. This ride spins, turns, lifts and drops. So much fun!
When you’re at Valleyfair, you can’t pass up the opportunity to go on the Tilter. This is such a classic ride that we love a lot. Every time we are at Valleyfair, we make sure to go on this ride. It’s one of my kids favorites. I’m sure many of you have been on this ride multiple times too. We love how it goes backwards and forwards and spins in circles. Such a classic and fun ride.
Another ride my daughters always make sure to go on, is Northern Lights. They went on this ride a lot while we were at Valleyfair. It’s one of their favorites. On this ride you will rock and roll on over 300 feet of track at speeds of up to 43 mph. The ride will go up and doesn’t slow down or even bring you down until it’s over. You’ll love spinning and coasting on this ride.
My all time favorite ride at Valleyfair is Steel Venom. I always make time for going on this ride even if I have to go on it alone. Luckily this year my oldest daughter Mercades decided to try it out with me. This was her first time going on this ride and she loved it. I’m glad to see that she loved it as much as I do. I love how this ride moves forward very quickly and go backwards quickly too. You’ll be accelerated in less than four seconds to 68 mph toward the forward tower before dropping back down through the station house and up the back tower. The train runs along a 656-foot U-shaped track, incorporating two 185-foot vertical spikes. The forward spike features a twisted spiral while the backward spike provides a straight freefall. It is such a blast! I absolutely love this ride.
If you love swings, then you may like the North Star ride. This ride is a 230-foot-tall tower that spins you more than 20 stories above the ground. You are seated in a two-person-chin-link swing, which allows you to dangle your feet. It will slowly begin to rotate in a circular motion reaching speeds of up to 40 miles an hour as the swings ascend and descend the tower. This is definitely a ride for anyone who loves to swing. Swinging is not just for kids, but adults too! I’ve personally always loved to swing.
Delirious is one of their newer rides. This is the purple ring ride pictured above. This ride is a 70-foot looping thrill ride that made its debut in the 2018 season. This coils riders upside-down on a seven-story, 360-degree freestanding structure with a high capacity, high-speed train. Riders board the 24-person train where they begin to rock back and forth. The train gains momentum and races around the inside of this 7-story track, eventually slowing to hold riders suspended upside-down; the ride then reverses direction.
There were a lot of fun activities for the kids to do all around the park as well. One of the ones my daughters joined in on, was rock painting. We love to do rock painting at home, so I knew they’d want to do this as well. There were so many rocks that everyone painted and I thought they did such a great job. I love seeing how creative everyone can get when they paint rocks. They were all so lovely.
There was a place where you could decorate your own Halloween masks too. My daughters did a wonderful job with those. We always love doing masks this time of year. It’s an activity that we enjoy together. They had so many other fun activities around the park as well. You could even make slime or decorate some small pumpkins. A lot of great activities for all the kids.
They had this wagon-along story stroll where you could walk along and read a story. I read the story to everyone while we walked around. They even had these cute animals dressed up in Halloween costumes along with the story. I made sure to snap some photos of them because I thought they were really cute.
There was a lot of entertainment around the park as well. The Spectral Sisters put on a jazz show that was amazing. I absolutely loved it and they sang very well. Even their outfits were amazing. I had a lot of fun listening to them.
It was fun and entertaining watching The Gross Out Gauntlet. Both kids and adults joined in on some of this entertainment. I really enjoyed seeing the kids having so much fun when they all walked around the buckets. (like musical chairs) They would walk around the buckets until the music stopped. Once it stopped they had to stick their hands inside the buck. It’s a lot like musical chairs, but made different. Each kid earned a prize for playing too.
The Incantation starts when it starts to get dark outside. You’ll be able to join the characters while they help to bring Patch the Pumpkin Pail to life. This was one of my favorites of the night. You won’t want to miss this. It was great being able to see the pumpkin start to lite up.
There was a fun media event for all the media while I was there too. My family and I were able to check it out and enjoy some of the new food and beverages that they came out with. They had a lot of these around the park where you could buy as well. This was just a fun media event for us all to get a taste of some of it. They had a lot more around the park.
The Blood Bag Empanadas were probably my favorite. I thought these were really good. These are an empanada stuffed with tomato sauce, cheese and sausage.
I also really enjoyed The Count’s Cooking. This was a spicy bean chili with cheddar cornbread. I thought this was a perfect choice for fall too. Chili is such a great dish when the weather starts to cool down. This was definitely delicious.
If you’re looking for a delicious dessert, the Pumpkin Swirl buns are amazing. Each of these buns are individually baked with spiced icing. What a perfect treat for fall too. I’m sure these will be a big hit too. Pumpkin or anything spiced is a great treat for fall in my opinion. These were certainly an amazing dessert.
Follow the Trail Mix was a wonderful treat as well. I personally love having trail mix, so I knew I’d love this. The kids really enjoyed this one as well. This is a fall trail mix that has popcorn, spiced nuts, candy corn, chocolate chips, pretzels and Craisins in it.
The Blood Bag drinks were amazing! These are actually in what looks like a blood bag. I thought that was awesome. You can drink through the tube that comes out of the bag. How neat are these?! I love them! They have a few different flavors too, and even alcoholic ones for the adults.
I love these fun food characters that they had set up in the media event. I loved them so much that I had to snap up some photos. They were even dressed up for Halloween as well. I love it!
My family and I had a lot of fun at the media event. It was great being able to try out some of their new foods and beverages that they had around the park. We were very thankful to be a part of it. They did such an amazing job with the food and drinks as well as all the decor. All displays and such were very gorgeous. It really made us think of fall and Halloween. We enjoyed the event a lot.
Once it got dark out and it was nearing time for Valleyfair to close, they had the Good Nightmares. Everyone from the neighborhood comes together for a charming grace note to bid the ghosts and goblins of all ages goodbye. It was a great way to end the night.
My family and I had such a blast at Valleyfair. We enjoy being able to go each year. It’s always fun being able to attend the media events as well. They really did a great job getting the Tricks and Treats event together. There is so much to do around the park for Halloween now for the kids. We really enjoyed it all. Valleyfair is always a great time when we’re with family!
