3 Ways To Increase The Value Of Your Home

20 January, 2023 by KatBp 22 Comments

According to a 2018 survey with The Harris poll, more than 1,400 homeowners— believe that the value of their property will climb in the next 10 years. There are several factors that are involved in raising the prices of property.

Some reasons play a big role in property price but are out of our control. Such as location, the demand in the market, and economic fluctuations.  However, there are certain things that homeowners can do to add to their property’s value.

And maintenance is among the tried-and-true strategies that have proven results to increase home value. It involves decluttering the home, raising storage space, and many others. But, these factors can increase the cost of the property only to some extent. If you’re renting out the property, you could also increase its value by looking into schemes like bonus depreciation introduced by the One Big Beautiful Bill. This sort of financial management allows you to turn your property into a significant income-generating asset that serves you long-term.

Additionally, increasing the value of your current property can act as a stepping stone when you decide to move to your next home. There’s no denying that if you fancy living in one of those luxury apartments overlooking the Hollywood sign, for example, you will need a starting capital. That’s where increasing the value of your current home can turn profitable when you decide to sell and move.

So, what other steps can be taken to increase the home value significantly?

Continue reading to explore some real game-changing aspects to increase home value. Stay with us till the end.

Consider To Elevate Home Value

These proven tips will help you choose the correct installations and uncover the essential elements to increase your home value.

  • Upgrade Windows

In many cases, people tend to ignore window maintenance and upgrade. It is mainly because they feel windows are just for home aesthetics. But they play a major role in home safety. In fact, many people are installing contemporary window treatments to protect their privacy. In addition, it also keeps burglars at bay by hiding valuable home interiors.

Apart from safety, these window treatments will make your home smart as you can operate blinds with Bluetooth wireless technology. In the case of home aesthetics, too, you need not worry. They have tons of different varieties of neutral colors and patterns to complement your home accessories.

Beyond the window treatments are the windows and glass walls. Transform your home with glass walls: style, light, and energy efficiency in 2026 are the primary goals to keep in mind as you focus on upgrades. Glass walls let the sunshine in while expanding your view of the great outdoors. The visuals beyond the glass walls are uninterrupted and inviting.

Boost Kerb Appeal for a Strong First Impression

Before a buyer even steps inside, they’ve already formed an opinion about your home. That initial moment, standing at the gate, pulling into the driveway, walking up the path, sets the tone for everything that follows. Simple upgrades like repainting the exterior, maintaining a neat garden, updating outdoor lighting, or even replacing an old front door can instantly elevate how your property is perceived. A well-kept exterior signals that the home has been cared for overall, which builds trust and perceived value. Even larger improvements, like a roof replacement, can dramatically improve both appearance and structural confidence, giving potential buyers fewer reasons to hesitate. When your home looks inviting from the outside, it creates momentum, buyers walk in expecting to be impressed, and that mindset can directly influence how much they’re willing to pay.

  • Make It Energy Efficient

75% of Americans believe that buying a home is a big financial investment. In such a case, having a home with lower energy expenses is a dream come true. Even if they have to invest a few extra dollars, it will eventually attract more buyers.

To make a home more energy efficient, install secure and smart gadgets. You can look for specific energy-efficient appliances for your home. Some of the features include being wifi-operable, temperature & motion sensors, etc. You can also reduce your electricity rates by installing solar panels on your roof. It will be the best deal available to purchasers. If your roof isn’t in the best condition for solar panels, it could be wise to get it repaired before moving ahead, as you don’t want your roofing issues to show up on your structural survey. Aside from this, getting a new roof is also a good way for you to significantly improve the energy efficiency of your home, so you can’t lose here. If you need a good roofer, Mighty Dog Roofing are a solid choice. They will undoubtedly seek to buy a property with so much to offer to save money. Other options include hiring an air conditioning service, as this is a great way for you to keep your home energy efficient, and it also allows you to again, save money on your energy bills. An air conditioning service can also remove dust build up in your vents, which can lead to numerous health issues, so it’s good to at least get a six-monthly inspection done if you can.

  • Make It Smarter

The best way to attract more buyers is by making your home smarter. Then, why not? Nearly every appliance in your house can be networked and remotely managed using a smartphone or smart speaker.

This way, you will increase your home value and make your home more functional & human-controlled. Hence, installing virtual voice assistance, security cameras, electric fencing, thermostats, fire detectors, and CO detectors are good options. So, hire a technician for a home inspection. He can guide you best on which appliance fits your home.

Another often overlooked way you can increase the value of your property simply by expanding the land itself whenever possible. Purchasing adjoining land where available will significantly boost the usability and long-term investment potential of the properties that you own.

Exploring options such as land buying opportunities can give you a much better idea of how additional space will enhance not only your privacy but your resale value as well. This type of approach can turn a standard property into something that is versatile and high value
