31 July, 2017 by KatBp 44 Comments

Having a raining day and don’t know what to do? Don’t let the rain stop you from having fun. I have a list of some fun activities that you can do with your kids if it’s raining outside. My daughters and I have fun with many of these indoors. You don’t have to be outside just to have some fun.

  1. Visit the library
  2. Build a fort
  3. Indoor treasure hunt
  4. Watch movies
  5. Play board games
  6. Bake
  7. Color
  8. Write a letter to someone
  9. Read
  10. Have a tea party
  11. Play dress up
  12. Make crafts
  13. Draw
  14. Have a puppet show
  15. Play with play-doh
  16. Have some Science fun
  17. Paint
  18. Play card games with a deck of cards
  19. Blow up balloons and play with them.
  20. Make some tie dye items, like shirts
  21. Play I Spy
  22. Make a bird feeder
  23. Play charades
  24. Play classic games like red light green light, Simon says, Mother may I, ect…
  25. Have a pillow fight
  26. Camp indoors
  27. Sing Karaoke
  28. Play with Legos or building blocks
  29. Make your own Play-doh
  30. Play school or grocery store

I hope you were able to find something on this list for your kids to do. My girls love to do all of these activities. I know this week we’re suppose to have some rain, so they’ll be able to enjoy doing some of these indoor activities this week.

What activities do your kids enjoy doing on a rainy day?

This is fantastic! While it doesn’t rain a lot in my area – the hottest, driest part of the country – it does get so hot that the kids can’t go outside. I’m bookmarking this!

I love playing games when the weather is nasty out. When my kids were younger we played a lot of go fish.

Museums are a fun rainy day activity. A lot of museums are free for kids so it is a cheap way to get out and have some fun.

Great ideas. I used to keep a rainy day box in my closet that my kids could only get down when the weather made it impossible to go outside.
