5 Tips to Make Your Swimming Pool More Fun

28 September, 2021 by KatBp 26 Comments

This is a guest post.

One sure way to beat the heat is having a swimming pool and inviting friends and family over for a dip. Just the thought of cool refreshing water is already making you excited to jump into your very own pool. However, having a swimming pool isn’t as simple as it sounds. It requires dedication and effort on your part as a pool owner. You have to maintain and enhance it, especially if you plan on making it the most enjoyable area in your home.

Here are five easy ways you can make your swimming pool more fun:

Add Water Features to Your Pool

Adding water features is worth it because it will make your pool stand out from other pools. There are many types of water features you can choose from, like fountains, geysers, and bubblers. They make sounds that add to the ambiance while providing relaxation when you want to chill out beside your pool, especially after a hard day at school or work.

Adorn Your Pool With Colorful Decorations

Colorful decorations are another basic yet effective way to make your pool more fun, especially if you have a large pool. You can buy ornaments that look like inflatable animals and put them in different places around your pool. Decorations like these will surely grab everyone’s attention. Having these colorful ornaments in your swimming pool area is worth it as it adds life to the pool and makes it more attractive.

Play Music to Make the Atmosphere More Relaxing

Swimming pools are great spots for parties, but you need to set the mood first. The best way to do this is by playing relaxing music like jazz or classical music. You can even call for a karaoke night with your friends using an outdoor speaker system strategically placed around the pool.

Add Some Lighting in Your Pool Area

Lighting is another inexpensive way to spruce up your pool area. You can add colorful LED lighting under the water or put lights around the pool area. It’s not only affordable, but it adds beauty to your pool at night, making the experience more fun and relaxing for everyone who comes over to take a night dip or chill by the poolside.

If you’re concerned about the water temperature on those cooler evenings, having a solar pool heater may be for you. A solar pool heater ensures that the water stays at a consistently warm temperature, no matter the outside temperature, so you and your guests can enjoy evening swims in comfort.

Have Fun Games Ready in the Water

Having fun games for people to play in the water is an excellent way to make your pool more fun. You can set up a water basketball net or prepare pool toys, like a rope for a tug of war with your friends. With so many fun things to do in your pool, there will never be a dull moment with family and friends because everyone will love splashing around until they are tired from swimming.

Conclusion

Swimming pools are one of the places where you can still get away from all the daily stress. It’s relaxing and fun, especially when you have guests who want to hang out with you by the pool for a change of scenery. You can make your pool more fun by adding water features, colorful decorations, lighting, music, and games to keep everyone entertained. Given these easy tips, you can now make your swimming pool a place where people will love coming again and again.

These are great! We got a new pool this year and I have been trying to find ways to make things more fun for the kids. Though this is the first year, don’t need to entice them too much. lol

We don’t have a swimming pool at home but I want one. The kids love their inflatable pool though. Anyway, I’d really make the pool fun should we finally decide to have one constructed.
