Do you celebrate Cinco De Mayo? If you do, then I have some great products that you can use to help you create some great food. I received some products from Imusa to review. I was offered these products from IMUSA so I could create some recipes for Cinco De Mayo. There are a lot of recipes you can create.

food

My daughters and I decided to head over to my father’s house to make some of these goodies. We thought the more people we had the better to share everything with. We started off by using the tortilla press to make some tortillas. We have never done home-made ones before, so we were excited about this.

tortillas

The tortilla press was actually very easy to use. Even my daughters were able to press it down to make the tortillas. We made the dough recipe from the one that came with the tortilla press. After making the dough, we rolled them in balls and pressed them down with the tortilla press. After doing that we were able to use the griddle to get them nice and crispy.

guacamoleWe used the avocado slicer to make some guacamole dip. This was my first time making my own guacamole and I thought it turned out great. My father and I really enjoyed it. The avocado slicer made it easier to get all the avocado out for the guacamole.

Guacamole Recipe:

  • 3 Avacados
  • 1 Lime, Juiced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1/4-1/2 Cup Onion

In a medium bowl mash the avocados, lime juice and salt. Then add in the tomato and onion and mix well. You can serve immediately if you’d like or refrigerate it. This is a very simple recipe and I hope you enjoy it.

Corn & Bean Salsa Recipe:

  • 1 10.5 oz Bag of Frozen Corn
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 15 oz. Can of Black Beans
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Onions
  • 1 Lemon, Juiced

Mix all ingredients together and that’s it. This is such a simple recipe and it’s very delicious!

We loved the salsa bowls. They were perfect for putting our dips in. Besides the guacamole we also make a corn & bean salsa. I have always wanted to make that kind of dip, so I was excited when I got these bowls so I could actually make it.

lime

I used the lemon squeezer for the limes. I needed one lime for the guacamole and the corn & bean dip. This was great to use for the dips. It’s a lot easier to use the squeezer than trying to squeeze the limes on your own. It worked out great.

chicken

We also decided to make some chicken quesadillas since we didn’t have any other meats with the meal. Mine are very simple to make. I just take some tortillas and add some chicken and shredded cheese. Then I put them in the microwave and heat them up.

We had made such great food. Everyone was very satisfied with everything we made.

Pictured above is all the food we made, put on a plate. We grilled the corn on our grill since we think it gives it a great taste. My family and I enjoyed using all the products from Imusa. They helped out a lot with making all the Cinco De Mayo food.

I have a Mexican husband…they don’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Mexico LOL. So, we spend the day performing for Americans traditional Mexican dances. Kinda funny right?
