Back to School Snacks

It’s still hard to believe that school is starting again. My daughters are going to start back up on Monday. I know a lot of you already have kids that have already started school. There is a lot to do when you get prepared for back to school. One of those is getting the kids lunches ready. My kids do eat school lunches, but there are times when they don’t like something, so I give them a home lunch as well. That means I have to come up with a lunch that I know they’ll eat.

I normally pack snacks in with my daughters lunches. There are many snack choices that I can choose for them, but I’m always on the look out for something different. Of course I like for them to taste good for my girls and be more of a healthier choice as well. I was lucky enough to be sent a lot of great snacks. I received some Pirates Booty, TrueNorth and New York Style snacks.

Our family loves the Pirate’s Booty aged white cheddar. It’s like popcorn, but without the kernels. They’re actually baked rice and corn puffs. White cheddar is one of my favorites, so I knew I was going to love these. I’m glad my family can enjoy these as a snack. They are great for packing for kids lunches for a snack as well. These puffs have no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives and they’re gluten-free. Many kids I know love these snacks. They sent so many of these, that we’ll have a lot for snack time after school and for lunches. I’ll even be able to share them with others. I have many nieces and nephews who are going to love these as well.

The cashew crunch from TrueNorth were really good. These are made with crunchy roasted cashews combined with crunchy rice crisps. They’re vegan, gluten-free, non-dairy, non-GMO ingredients with a hint of sea salt. I love cashews, so it wasn’t a surprise when tried them and liked them. I love how crunchy these snacks are too!

DSC_0506

The chocolate nut crunch were my favorite. These have almonds, pecans, and cashews. These milk chocolate dipped nut clusters have no artificial colors, no preservative, no trans fat, and no cholesterol. I would have to say that the chocolate really  makes them taste wonderful. I get a chocolate craving sometimes, so these are great for my cravings.

DSC_0523

These ancient grains & flaxseed pita chips from New York Style were my favorite. They’re made from hearty grains like amaranth, buckwheat, black sesame and millet. These chips are very crunchy and delicious! They certainly go great with dips too, especially hummus. These pita chips are actually baked from real pita bread too! They’re very healthy too. I have no probably giving these to my family since they’re great for them.

DSC_0524

The chia seeds & quinoa pita chips were good as well. I find these to go great with herb dips. These are another healthier option as well. Both of these pita chips have no sugar in them either. I’m always watching how much sugar is put in food, so this was great to see that it had no sugar at all. These are the types of snacks that I love to buy for my family.

If you’re looking for some great snack items, all of these would be a great choice. Now that school is back in session, these are all great ideas for snacks for kids lunches. Which of these snacks have you tried before? If you have never tried any of them yet, which ones would you love to try?
