How many of you are excited that fall is almost here? Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I just love when the leaves turn beautiful colors. I don’t like cold weather, but during fall it’s usually not that bad. I can wear a jacket and still keep warm. This is the time when you get to make all those warm dishes. Soups, apple dishes and pumpkin dishes are the best for this time of year.
Fall is a great time to get some cleaning done as well. Now that the kids are back in school, I have more time during the day to get more cleaning done. I find it better to clean during this time of year because the weather is cooler. This just means that I won’t have to worry about it being so hot out when I get some cleaning done. This is why I love fall cleaning.
I’ve got a few great tips for keeping your home clean this fall. I’ve listed some of these tips below. I hope that you can find these very useful for cleaning around your home.
Declutter- This is one of the best ways to get rid of those items that you just don’t use. Go through your clothes, because I bet you’ll find something you or your kids don’t wear anymore. You could even have a garage sale to get rid of some of those items and make some extra money off them. There are always items in your home that you don’t use. I just did some decluttering not that long ago, and I have found a lot of items that we hardly ever used. It also feels great to get rid of those items.
Organize- To keep your home from becoming a mess, organizing is a great way to keep things together. Keeping things more organized can be less stressful too. I always make sure to keep everything organized. I can’t stand to be unorganized. Besides keeping things organized in the home, you can organize in your car as well with an auto trunk organizer. My husband works on vehicles all the time, so he makes sure to keep a lot of car items in our trunk of the car. That just means they’re all over my trunk. With this organizer I don’t have to worry about them spilling all over or moving all over the place. It’s great for keeping blankets or toys for kids in it as well.
Deodorize- You can use these great Febreze air effects and fabric refresher to get rid of those stinky smells around your home. There are so many ways that smells can get in your home. Pets can track them often, the bathroom is always a smelly place, and event he garbage gets bad.
I love to use the air effects for the bathroom and the garbage. Just spray some of that and it will instantly start to smell fresh. I love using the fabric refresher for things like carpets and furniture. It’s great for getting some of those scents out, especially if you have pets.
Refrigerator/Freezer- Go through your fridge and freezer and get rid of some items. I go through mine often, because there is always something in there that seems to have expired, or has been sitting in there forever without being used.
Dust- You can dust everything! Fans, shelves, tables, chairs and even ceilings! I always recommend to dust weekly. This is a great way to keep dust from piling up and getting a ton of dust around your home.
Cleaning Furniture- When I say clean furniture, I mean to check under the furniture and sweep or vacuum out what’s under it. You’d be surprised to see all the stuff that can get under furniture. Since I have kids, I always find toys under our couch. I make sure to move the furniture often to get everything out from under it. You can also move the cushions from your couches and vacuum out whats in the couch as well as taking out toys or other things that may be stuck under the cushions of the couch.
Cleaning Your Floors- I vacuum my carpets almost daily. With pets and kids, it can get dirty real quick. I will at least try to vacuum every other day to keep the dirt out of the carpets. Cleaning your floors can become a daily job too. Whatever type of floors you have, the Swiffer Wet Jet can get the job done. I have a couple different kinds of floors, and one of those is hardwood. I know that with hardwood you have to be very careful with what type of product you’re using, so that it doesn’t ruin your floors. The Swiffer Wet Jet has different kinds of solutions for all types of floors.
I didn’t know this before, but four billion square feet of hard surface flooring will be installed in american homes in this year alone! Now days, most people do have hard wood floors. Some solutions will bead up instead of spreading out evenly on hard wood floors. This beading of the solution can cause streaking and hazing when it is mopped up.
This is why the Swiffer Wet jet is so great for hard wood floors. This has a solution for all those challenges. It provides a quick cleaning stystem that is scientifically proven to be safe on all types of wood floors and deliver breakthrough results.
I’m amazed at how well this product works. My father has a Swiffer Wet Jet, but his was one of the first ones that came out. This one that I have is new and improved. These new pads have an absorb + lock strip for improved absorption of dirt/grime. It’s even got a new solution formula for more effective cleaning. I can definitely say that the new pads are wonderful! They really do absorb a lot more and hold up great.
My bathroom floor cleaned up great with this product. It didn’t take much work to get all the dirt off the floor either. Sometimes kids will spill something, and it never gets cleaned up. This product works great on getting those cleaned up as well. I feel that I can get my home a lot cleaner with the Swiffer Wet jet, and even my husband loves it! It’s the only product he actually wants us to use on our hard wood floors.

I love all of your fall cleaning tips. I remember when I used to find children’s toys under the couch, now I find dog toys. I have hardwood floors throughout my house and they just don’t get clean enough especially with pets. I have been thinking of getting a Swiffer Wetjet.

Awesome tips for cleaning during the fall. I think it’s important to go through everything especially the kitchen and the rooms where there’s traffic in the house. These items are awesome as well.

As many of you are quite aware, a life with kids means not only more mess but less time to clean it up. A tip I find extremely helpful: I aim to do one thing each day (toilets, floors, laundry, etc)…. Believe it or not spending 20-30 mins a day helps me avoid spending an entire day or weekend cleaning when I’d rather be with my kids 😊

Swiffer and Febreze are a couple of my favorites to clean with! I use a lot of vinegar. With newspaper, it cleans glass and windows really good. Baking soda and vinegar together cleans my cooktop really good.

My only cleaning tip is really for organization in the bathroom. I put a plastic shoe holder on the back of the bathroom door to hold extra shampoos, lotions and potions. It is amazing how it clears out the closet and bathroom counter

My best cleaning tip is to start on one end of the house and work your way through it. It always helps me to start in the kitchen and than go to the bedrooms one by one.
I think that’s always a great idea too. That way you’re not starting all over the place.
Great tips! We just had a new ceramic tile floor installed in our kitchen and I can’t wait to try amSwiffer Wet Jet on it. I also love the Swiffer dusters. They’re the easiest and most effect way I’ve ever cleaned our slatted wood blinds.
