My oldest daughter, Mercades, has been showing a lot of interest in cooking lately. She’s at that age where she really wants to help out and make something. I love that she’s showing such an interest. I remember being around her age, and I was the same way. I have always loved to cook ever since I was little as well. I think it’s a great experience to cook with your kids in the kitchen too. They can learn a lot from cooking.

If you can remember back when I did a post about the book “Dex”, it has helped to inspire her to be able to cook food up in the kitchen. I talked to her and asked her what she’d like to make. She wanted to make some kind of breakfast sandwich, so we went with that. I let her cook up everything she wanted to make for the sandwich. Of course I was there to help supervise her as well.

My whole family loves breakfast, and often we eat breakfast for dinner. There are many great breakfast items that are so good that you just have to have them for dinner. My daughter decided to cook up a lot of different breakfast foods. She wanted to use hashbrowns, eggs, sausage, bacon, cheese and toast to make her breakfast sandwich.

We used a griddle to make this sandwich. This is a very simple recipe that she came up with, and the ingredients are easy to cook with. All she did was take all those ingredients (hashbrowns, bacon, eggs, sausage) and cooked them on the griddle. She then made sure to put the toast in the toaster. Once all her items were cooked, she put them on the toast and made her sandwich! She added a slice of cheese to that as well.

I thought it was very creative, and it actually tasted really good! I’d have her make these again anytime! I love all breakfast items, so I’m glad she was able to make something and have it turn out great!

How many of you have kids who love to cook? I think it’s great to get them in the kitchen and have them cook. It’s a great way to bond with your children as well. I’m glad that my daughter loves to cook, so now we get to cook together. That’s something I always enjoyed doing with my mother when I was little. I know that she really enjoys cooking along with me too!

If you have any kids at home who love to cook, then I hope that you’ll check out the Dex book for them as well. I’d love to hear some of the creations that your children have made or something they would love to make!
