Chicago Toy & Game Fair

26 November, 2017 by KatBp 112 Comments

My husband and I took our daughters to the Chicago Toy & Game Fair for the first time this year, and we all had a wonderful time. We were very excited to go because we had never gone to anything like this before. We heard it was one of the biggest ones, so that was even more exciting. It was great to hear about all the amazing toys and games that were going to be there. Below you’ll find our top three favorite things from the fair. Although we loved everything, these were my daughters top choices.

The very first thing we went to when we got there, was the Playfoam. My daughters love playing with Playfoam, and so do I! We could play with this stuff forever. We find it very addicting to play with and you can make so many things with it. They had some displays of snowmen, so all the kids were able to make their own snowmen, and they even got to bring them home with them. They also gave them a small pack of Playfoam to take home. It was certainly a lot of fun!

Pop the Pig by Goliath Games was a game that my daughters have always loved. They use to play this game at a friend’s house, so they knew they loved the game. What they did with this, is roll the dice and do what the dice says. If it shows a certain color, than they’ll take that color and look at the back of it. Each one has a number on it. That is the number of times you press down on his head. Whoever ends up popping the pig’s stomach open, loses.

My daughters played Gas Out from Mattel at a friend’s birthday party for the first time a year ago. They had so much fun with it, that we all had to play with them when we saw it at the Chicago Toy & Game Fair. It was a lot of fun too. My husband and I enjoyed playing this with my girls. Each person starts off with three cards. Whatever is on your cards, is what you have to do. Some have numbers, which means you have to press down on the guy til he makes a “fart” noise. If he does that to you, than you’re out and everyone else keeps playing til someone wins. Some of the cards have skip a turn or reverse as well. It’s a lot of fun!

They had a special lunch for all of the media and bloggers as well. It was Star Wars themed, so that was a lot of fun. They even had us walk through where a lot of troopers were with their lightsabers. It was an awesome experience! After going through there we just sat down at our tables and when and got some food. They had a lot of great food that was Star Wars themed as well. They had nachos, hot dogs, cookies and more!!

They even had all kinds of Star Wars characters walking around as we were eating. They were nice enough to let us take some photos with the girls too. They actually had a nice booth set up so you could go get photos with them all with your kids if you wanted. It was definitely a blast for all of us.

Our family had a wonderful time at Chicago Toy & Game Fair. We hope to go again. It was certainly worth it as they had so much to play with. If you’re ever in the area when they have their fair, I’d highly recommend going. It was a ton of fun!

This would be a dream come true for my kiddo. I would like it myself. It would be fun to see what kind of toys are on their way out to the toy shelves. It would be fun to be able to see how the kids interact with them.
