If you have been following along, then you know by now that my family and I have been doing an ABC family date night, and we sure have been having a blast with it. We are now on letter D, and Mercades was choosing this one. She decided to go with a drive in movie theater. Now my husband is the only one who has ever been to a drive in before, so for my daughters and I, this was our very first experience. We ended up seeing the movie Toy Story 5.
I did have a harder time getting photos here, just because of it being dark. I wasn’t able to get very many, but the experience was worth it. I know in some of these places, we won’t be able to get as many photos as we like, but that’s okay. The experience is always what we want, and not caring about photos, but they’re nice to have too. They actually had two different movies showing at the same time, but we really wanted to see Toy Story 5, so that’s what we saw as a family.
They even had this play area for the kids. We went to check some of that out before the movie started. Some of these were just displays, but they had some fun things for the kids to do. They even had a small area for adults so that they could have played some games and such. They did have concessions too, but we only got popcorn. I would have taken photos, but honestly I kind of just forgot because we were having a lot of fun, and it was just so dark out to get to many photos.
Overall, we all had a lot of fun, and would do it again. I’m sure next year we’ll end up going again. You can either sit inside your car and play it through your radio, or even sit outside and buy a radio that you could listen to that way as well. I can’t wait to go again next year with the family. I just know we’ll go again and have a blast. If you have never been to a drive in theater, and you can find one nearby, I highly suggest it. It was so much fun.
I’ve always wanted to see a movie at a drive in. I’ll have to see if there’s one nearby. It would be a fun experience.

Yes, we sure did. It started to rain after our movie was over, so we got lucky.
I’m glad you enjoyed your drive-in movie! We used to do this on weekends too, but we stopped during the pandemic. Your post actually reminded us how much we enjoyed those movie dates, so now I’m thinking we should plan another drive-in movie night soon.

Wow! It’s always on my thought about experiencing drive-in movie! I see that you enjoy it, I’m curioud how does the place looks like when its dark?
Pretty much the same just dark honestly. It was hard getting photos in the dark, which is why I wasn’t really able to get many.
We have a drive in about an hour away from us. It was always fun to go watch the movie in the back of the SUV. I have a sedan now so it wouldn’t be as comfy. The only downfall to outdoor movies is the mosquitoes.
The closest drive in movie theater just closed its doors for good. So sad!
We got lucky, and there were no mosquitos. At least not for me anyways. Sad to hear when they close down though. I really do enjoy going.
