Easter Peeps Mason Jars

6 April, 2017 by KatBp 60 Comments

It’s so exciting that Spring is finally here and Easter is on its way. I love spending time with my family on Easter. Do you have any special plans you normally do on Easter? One of my daughters favorite things, is doing Easter egg hunts. We always have many of those around our neighborhood that we love to attend. The kids get to go around searching for Easter eggs. They have a lot of fun with that. I love seeing how excited they get for the hunts. Of course we also love spending time with the family on Easter. We usually get together and have a great meal.

Since Easter is coming up, I wanted to make something that would be fun. I had to search around the house to see what I had, and I found a great idea with mason jars. I love using mason jars because you can make so many things with them. I decided to make some Easter Peeps Mason Jars.

Items you will need:

Peeps

Chocolate Candy Eggs

Graham Crackers

Mason Jars

Shoe Laces (different colors)

Colored paper for the top of the jar

The first thing you’re going to want to do, is to take a graham cracker. You’re only going to need the one piece for each jar. Crush up the graham cracker and put it in the jar. It doesn’t have to be all crushed up, but do the best you can.

After you fill the bottom with the graham cracker, you can put the chocolates on. I use these egg-shaped chocolates, but you can use anything you’d like. You can put as many of those in as you’d like. Just make sure to leave room for the Peeps. I put about 8-10 of those in there.

Next you can take as many Peeps that will fit in the jars. I used the small mason jars, so I was able to get three Peeps in there. Just put them side by side with the faces facing the outside where everyone can see them.

Next you’re going to want to trace the lid on some paper and cut that out. This is going to be for the lid of your jar. This gives them a great look instead of looking at the boring lid.

See how much nicer this looks! You just want to put this under the lid and still use the other pieces of the lid. Just make sure that this piece is on top so everyone can see it.

The final thing you want to do, is to tie the shoelace around the lid. I love using shoelace because it’s simple and there are many colors to choose from. These laces are a lot easier to tie too.

That’s all there is to it. This is a very simple craft that I enjoyed making. These would make some great gifts for Easter too. I’ll probably be making more and handing them out to some friends and family this Easter. I also love using them as center pieces for our table. They look great there, and will look even better for Easter!

Now it’s your turn to make these wonderful Easter Peeps Mason Jars. If you’re going to be having a get together with family and friends for Easter, you can hand these all out to your guest or use them for decorations. Either way, I hope you enjoy this and give your home a pop of color with these!

We’ve done the Easter Egg hunt thing. I think this year though, we’ll simplify it a bit. We might do it, but I think we’ll focus on one nice gift instead of filling Easter baskets with more things that clutter. We are slowly becoming minimalists.
