Recently I was provided with a DVD to review from Lionsgate. The video is called Instructions not Included. This is a bi-lingual comedy which means it’s in Spanish and English. It’s also rated pg 13. I don’t normally like having to read captions in movies but it was different with this movie. I really enjoyed the movie.

Valentin Bravo has a great life in Acapulco. In the beginning he is known as a bed hopper. Shortly after being with one of the women, she comes back to his place with a child. She tells Valentin that the baby is his and she leaves him with the baby and disappears. Of course he doesn’t really know what to do with a baby. His life was so much different and now all of that is going to change.

He decides to go to Hollywood to look for the mother of the child. Valentin ends up coming across a new career as a stuntman and makes a home for him and his daughter Maggie. He’s got a lot of growing up to do as he raises Maggie on his own.

Everything is going great until one day he gets a call from Maggie’s mother and she wants to meet her. Everything seems to be going great with Maggie’s mother til the end when she tries to get full custody of her.

If you’d love to know what happens to Maggie in this movie then you’ll have to buy the movie to find out more.

I thought this was a great movie. I really don’t like captions but this movie had a great story and it captured my attention the whole time, so the captions didn’t even matter to me at that point. I love that Valentin was able to care for his child even though the mother just dropped her off and disappeared for years. It truly was a touching story, especially at the end.

This sounds like a cute movie. I am not a fan of captions either , mostly because I have ADD and sometimes like to multitask when i watch movies. With captions, that is not an option lol but If i am enthralled enough,m it doesn’t matter. A lot of foreign films have kept my attention.

I love movies where the dad’s are acting like mature adults. I’m usually not into subtitles, but this movie sounds interesting enough that I would probably watch it. You really aren’t going to tell us what happened to Maggie are you? This is now on my must watch list.
