Kidney Bean Tacos

7 March, 2018 by KatBp 58 Comments

This post was sponsored by S&W Beans as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

I’m so glad that it is March already. I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to Spring. I’m already over winter and ready for the warmer weather that Spring brings. As the warmer weather approaches, I seem to do a lot more cooking than too. A few months left and my kids will be out of school and I’ll be cooking more often. I’m always looking for healthier options for my family. I love cooking up recipes, and we tend to go more towards healthier options. I’ve been trying harder this year to make recipes that are better for my family. That’s why I love it when I find healthier products to put in to my recipes.

S&W Beans is one of our favorite beans to use in recipes. They’re so delicious, and you can use them in so many different recipes. I have been using these beans for a long time now. I love putting them in all of my recipes. It’s so easy to switch up a recipe and add these beans in. You can create a lot of new variety of dishes by using the beans. The possibilities are endless!

The S&W Beans have been around for many years. This would be why I have been using them for so many years. I believe I can remember using them back when my parents would cook for me too. They even have the highest standards in the industry, demonstrating their premium quality for over 120 years. That’s so amazing to know they’ve been such great products for so many years. We love how great all their beans taste, and we love using the kidney beans especially.

I actually wanted to come up with a recipe that was different from what my family normally eats. We love to eat tacos, so I thought about a way that I could make tacos with the S&W kidney beans. Since my family does love their beans, I decided we might as well give them a try for a taco night. I have to say they ended up turning out great.

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup S&W Kidney Beans

1/2 Cup Chopped Tomatoes

1/2 Cup Corn

1/4 Cup Onion

2 Cloves Garlic

1 TBS. Olive Oil

1/4 tsp. Ground Cumin

1/4 tsp. Chili Powder

4 Soft Tortilla Shells

The first thing to do for this recipe, is to chop up the garlic and onions. Put the olive oil in the pan and then put the onions and garlic in there. Heat it up til they start to turn brown.

Next you’re going to need the corn, kidney beans and tomatoes and put them along with the onions. Mix that up and add in the ground cumin and chili powder as well. Make sure you mix it all up good. You can heat this for a few minutes to get the mixture all warmed up.

Now you’re going to want to heat up the soft tortilla shells. I always spray a frying pan with cooking spray. Than I put down the tortilla shell and heat it up til it starts to turn brown. Than you flip over and do the same til you’re satisfied with the way they are.

Once you have the tortilla shells heated up, you want to immediately fold them up so that they will end up staying that way. If they cool off, they most likely won’t stay folded well.

Once the tortilla shells have cooled off and stayed together, you can put the mixture inside. You can add any kind of toppings if you’d like. Some toppings could include herbs, sour cream, or whatever else you may think of. This is a very simple recipe that I will be making more often for my family. I thought they turned out great, and the S&W kidney beans sure taste delicious in this recipe.

S&W Beans can make all dishes look great. It’s so simple to be able to substitute certain products for the S&W beans. You can make healthier dishes this way too. You can use these S&W Beans in recipes from classic chili recipes to new, unique alternative protein recipe ideas. They have different varieties including: core, Less Sodium, and Organic. They’re very versatile and I’m sure you can come up with a lot of great recipes to use them with.

There is also a coupon for $1 off 2 cans of S&W Beans, any variety. Make sure to grab your coupon so you can make these kidney bean tacos, or maybe you want to make your own recipe with the S&W Beans. Either way, grab that coupon to help you save.

What do you think of S&W Beans? Have you tried them before?

This is a great option for a Meatless meal. You could even through some cheese and lettuce, tomato, onion and salsa on them and the kids would never know there wasn’t even any meat!

I have never tried S and W but the results in that taco looked so good. I have not made tacos in awhile but it seems like a great idea and I can make them vegetarian.

I haven’t tried this brand but I love the thought of a bean taco that isn’t refried. And it’s meatless which is a great change from the everyday taco too! I’m bummed that the S&W brand isn’t found anywhere near me but I will have to try this recipe still! Thanks for sharing!
