Movie #26 is All Dogs Go to Heaven

30 April, 2025 by KatBp 14 Comments

If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.

About All Dogs Go to Heaven

Set in 1939 New Orleans, this colorful, song-filled story centers on Charles B. Barkin, a roguish German Shepherd with the charm of a con man and the heart of a marshmallow. Out for revenge against his double-crossing former partner, a cigar-chomping pitbull. A canine angel, Charlie, sneaks back to earth from heaven but ends up befriending an orphan girl who can speak to animals. In the process, Charlie learns that friendship is the most heavenly gift of all.

I remember watching All Dogs Go to Heaven when I was little, and I loved the movie. I’m sure I have seen it a few times before. There was always a scene that I can remember about the dogs eating pizza, so that’s why I wanted to just have pizza for this movie. Sometimes having pizza and a movie is just the perfect choice, and it sure was for this movie.

I grew up watching All Dogs Go to Heaven, so I already knew it was going to be good. I’m so glad my daughters loved this movie as well. These were always the movies that I loved to watch with my family and friends. Now I just have to see if they’ll want to watch the second one as well. I always thought this one had a great message too since the dog found friendship in the little girl. Such a wonderful movie. Definitely watch it if you haven’t yet.

Have you ever seen this movie before? I would love to hear what you think if you have seen it. I hope that you all enjoy this movie as much as I do. It was such fun movie to see again. I’m glad I was able to watch this one with my daughters. You can grab a copy of AMAZON as well.

I’ve actually never watched All Dogs Go to Heaven with my kids, just like we’ve never watched The Land Before Time. I couldn’t put myself through them again, LOL. But reading this brought back a lot of childhood memories. Thanks for the nostalgic post!
