Movie #7 is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

14 May, 2024 by KatBp 20 Comments

If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.

About Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

“Bueller…Bueller…?” Sorry, not here! Instead, high-schooler Ferris Bueller (Mathew Broderick), his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara), and his best bud Cameron (Alan Ruck) are off on the spontaneous romp through Chicago known as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. You’ll also enjoy righteous bonus materials that give you an insider’s peek at this hilarious comedy hit from John Hughes (Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Sixteen Candles). So, barf up a lung, forge a “sick note” from the parents, and tag along on the funniest adventure to ever sweep through the Windy City. What are you still doing here? Save Ferris!

My daughters and I have been having so much fun watching these movies together. As you all know, we always make something to eat and drink while watching these movies. We try our best to get them to go along with the movie. Sometimes that means we find food that was already in the movie, and sometimes we just come up with something we think would fit in well. This time we went more of a dinner, which was pizza and hot dogs. There was a short scene where they had pizza, so we thought that would be good. We threw in some puffcorn and soda as well.

I had always wanted to see Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, but some how I never did get around to seeing it. I had always heard great things about this movie, and I figured my kids would like it as well. I’m so glad we had the chance to see this together for the first time. I’m pretty sure I had seen parts of this movie before, just never the whole movie. In this movie Ferris takes the day off from school and has a bit of fun with some friends. The principal always seems to be after him too since he seems to be missing school often. Will he ever end up catching him? You’ll have to see to find out if you haven’t already seen it of course.

This is definitely one of those movies you won’t want to miss if you haven’t seen it yet. I’m sure many of you have already seen this though. I know it is a good classic movie. It’s certainly a great movie, that’s for sure. I’m so glad my daughters enjoyed this one as well. If you like this movie, you can always grab it off AMAZON.

I have only watched this film once and it was only about 3 years ago. To be honest, I didn’t see the big deal in it. Maybe I need to watch it again

Although I know this is an old movie I have yet to see it. I’m glad to hear that it’s a movie you’d recommend. I will try to see if it’s available on Netflix so I can see it too.

I believe it’s only available on Paramount right now. I usually borrow them from the library if I can’t find them on a streaming service I have.

Your movie nights with your daughters sound like so much fun, especially with the themed snacks. Pizza and hot dogs for this one? Perfect choice! Can’t wait to add this to our watch list!

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is one of my favorite John Hughes movies! I remember seeing it in a theater when it first came out. My husband likes it too and we introduced it to our teen daughter and she enjoyed it as well.
