No Kid Hungry With Barilla

6 September, 2017 by KatBp 50 Comments

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Barilla. The opinions are all mine.

With school back in session, I have a busier schedule. Being busier usually means spending less time on cooking. That’s not always the case, but I find myself having less time to cook a lot of the times. I love to cook, but I don’t always have the time to make up a meal. This is why I love quick, easy and delicious meals. I’m always up for creating a new recipe for my family. I have always enjoyed cooking, ever since I was little. Since the weather is also getting cooler, and fall is approaching, I wanted to make a recipe that was considered a warm/hot meal. This is why I decided to make up a dish that I love to call cheesy chicken penne pasta bake.

My family loves pasta, so that’s why I decided to make this. I knew this would be something that would could all enjoy together as a family. With being very busy and school back in session, I needed a recipe like this for when my daughters and husband got home for dinner. I knew this was going to be a great option for my family. Family meals are very important to me. I love being able to sit down at the dinner table and talk with everyone over dinner. It’s always something I look forward to each night.

I love cooking with Barilla products, so I got some of the tomato & Basil sauce as well as Penne pasta from Barilla at Walmart. I love shopping at Walmart for better deals, and Barilla products are always something I can turn too. They have a great selection of products and they’re a great price as well.

Ingredients:

Box of Barilla Penne Pasta

Jar of Barilla Tomato Basil Sauce

1/2 tsp. Salt

1/4 tsp. Pepper

1/4 tsp. Onion Powder

3 Garlic Cloves

6 Cherry Tomatoes

1 lb. Chicken Breast

2 TBS. Grated Parmesan

 1 Cup Shredded Mozzarella

The first thing you’re going to want to do, is to cook the Penne pasta according to the package. Once that is done, you can drain the pasta.

While the pasta was cooking, I also cooked up the chicken. Once the chicken is done cooking, I cut it up in to bite size pieces.

I than took the chicken, tomato basil sauce, salt, pepper, garlic cloves, cherry tomatoes and onion powder and put them in a pan. I heated this up for a few minutes and mixed it all up.

After the mixture was heated up some, I put that along with the pasta in a baking dish. I than put this in the oven at 375 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. I put it in the oven just to get everything warmed up.

I took it out and put the Parmesan and mozzarella on top. I put this back in the oven after putting the cheese on. I only put it back in the oven til the cheese was melted. This usually only takes a few minutes.

After taking this out of the oven, I added some parsley on top. You can add as much as you want. I usually just sprinkle a little bit of it on top.

Making meals is very simple when it comes to Barilla. I was thrilled that this recipe turned out so good. The Barilla penne pasta was absolutely amazing, and the tomato basil sauce gave it a great taste.

Another great thing about Barilla, is that they have partnered up with No Kid Hungry. For every box of Barilla Blue Box pasta purchased at Walmart between 8/10/2017-10/31/2017, Barilla will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry, up to $50,000. That’s enough to provide 500,000 meals to kids in need. You can learn more HERE.

This is a wonderful thing that Barilla is doing. I personally will be buying more of these products so that they can donate more to No Kids Hungry. No kids should have to go hungry. I hope that you all will also join in and buy the Barilla products at Walmart. Millions of kids in America don’t get enough food at home, which can make it harder for them to focus and do well in school.

It’s hard to see any child go hungry. All kids should be able to get meals daily, but that’s not always the case. It’s great to see Barilla coming together with No Kid Hungry and helping out.

I hope that you’ll all join me in buying Barilla products from Walmart so that we can help out all these children that could use more meals. I’m thrilled that they’re doing this wonderful thing for children.

How many of you are planning on buying Barilla products? Have you used them before?
