FunKinder is a traditional family business. The inspiration for the reflective clothing idea came when the family had their first son, Janne. Like most little children, Janne has always been incredibly active and they all love the outdoors. Having lived in the Pacific Norhtwest, the grey weather did not bother the family at all. They spent ever minute possible hiking or on their bicycles.
At a 1½ years old, Janne learned how to ride his balance-bike and he would take it around the block. The neighborhood lacked sidewalks and the family was very concerned about safety. As parents, they wore safety vest on grey and dark days, but their son refused to wear the ones they had gotten for him. They desperately tried to find vests for toddlers, or any other reflective clothing for children. They searched and the only thing they were able to find were rain jackets. Out in Seattle it doesn’t rain everyday and evenings can be nice and warm.
The family was in need for clothing that had reflectivity for safety and that would be comfortable to wear as well. That’s when they decided to create a new line of children’s reflective clothing. Janne, his little brother Jelte and their friends all love the FunKinder clothes, even the parents as well. Now children that are out as dusk, night or dawn can benefit from the extra safety with attractive designs from the reflective VisiKid and VisiFun clothing line. Your child will be noticed no matter the weather or what sport they will be playing. Later additions that have been added to the line are the NameTeez where you can add personalized names to the clothing.
