Movie #13 is Grease

If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.

About Grease

This film adaptation of GREASE is the zippy smash hit translation from the Broadway musical tribute to the fabulous 1950s. As a new school year begins, wholesome Australian exchange student Sandy (pop star Olivia Newton-John) and duck-tailed, leather-jacketed Danny (John Travolta) parlay their summertime romance into an on-and-off attraction that may or may not cross clique lines. Sandy seriously cramps Danny’s style, so he dumps her. In response, Sandy begins dating a wholesome athlete, but, as a hedge, she also joins the gum-chewin’, tough-talkin’ clique known as the Pink Ladies. One of the most beloved musicals of all time, the popular soundtrack includes “You’re the One that I Want,” “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “Sandy,” “Summer Nights,” and the title tune.

We always have to have  charcuterie board when we do our movie nights. This time we went with burgers and fries along with milkshakes. There is a scene in the movie that they go to a restaurant and have these things, so I figured, what a better way than to have these for our board too. This was certainly a favorite, mostly because of the milkshakes and fries. (for my kids anyways) I enjoy burgers, but they don’t. This was a great way for everyone to have some yummy burgers, fries, and milkshakes.

Personally, I loved this movie, but my kids didn’t seem to enjoy it as much. That is fine though, we don’t always like the same movies, and that’s okay. I’ve seen the movie before, so I already knew I’d love to watch it again. My daughters saw it for the first time, and were not as interested as I was, but that’s okay. We can’t always agree on the same movies, and that’s just fine. I’m just glad they pulled through and watched the whole movie with me anyways. Still a wonderful classic movie that I’ll always love though.

Have you ever seen the movie Grease? I know this has always been a classic and is very popular, so I’m sure many of you have already seen this movie. If not, and you love movies that have lots of singing or musicals, this would be a good one for you to see. This was one of the best musicals I would have to say. Always fun to see this one. You can always grab a copy of AMAZON too if you’d like.

Truth be told, I’m not a fan of John Travolta 😀 But I would still watch Grease and enjoy all such yummy food!

This is such a great movie. Mind you, the message that a woman needs to change isn’t that great, but I’ve always enjoyed the songs.

I remember this was a hit when I was in high school and I never understood why. She literally changes herself just for a boy! Such a terrible message for teens.

I love “Grease” so much! Growing up, I used to sing the songs with my friends. I’ve even seen the stage show!

Time to watch this again! I think I saw this movie more than 20 years ago and I barely remember it but we enjoy musicals so, will add this to our watchlist.
