Movie #20 is Rock-A-Doodle

20 November, 2024 by KatBp 14 Comments

If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.

About Rock-A-Doodle

Chanticleer (voiced by Glen Campbell) is a rockin’ rooster who leaves the barnyard behind him for a taste of life singing in the big city, but when the farm is threatened with the disappearance of the sunrise, only his crowing can save the day. Song-filled animated tale from the Don Bluth studios also features the voices of Sandy Duncan, Ellen Greene, Phil Harris, Christopher Plummer; based on a 1910 play by “Cyrano de Bergerac” author Edmond Rostand. 74 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital stereo.

I had never actually seen Rock-A-Doodle until I watched it with my daughters. I just knew it was one I had always wanted to see, but for some reason never got around to seeing it. I had heard it was a good movie, so I made sure to add it to our list. For this one, we did a lot of yellow and orange food. We thought this would fit in with the movie well since there were lots of oranges and yellows, especially with some of the main characters.

We all thought it was a pretty good movie. I’ve always loved these older movies that are animated. They’re great to see with the family. It was a bit of an odd movie, but really good at the same time. Lots of great music in this one too. My oldest loves chickens, so she liked that they had some chickens and the rooster in here. Some of them could sing really good too.

Have you seen this movie before? I would say it’s worth the watch, especially if you have younger kids. I think they’d really enjoy seeing this movie. I know mine liked it, and so did I. You can grab your own copy of AMAZON if you’d like.

I remember this movie! It has been ages since I’ve thought about it, but I remember liking it. I’ll have to show my kids and make that tasty board.

Rock-A-Doodle is such a fun choice! Love the idea of matching the food theme with the movie’s colors!
