If you have been following along my movie journey, you’ll know that my daughters and I are watching movies from a list I made. You can check that list out HERE if you’d like. There are a ton of movies on this list that I plan to watch with my daughters. These were movies I watched growing up, so I want them to experience these movies as well. We all sit down as a family each week and pick out a movie. We don’t always get to watch one a week, but we try.
About Flubber
Packed with unmistakable Disney magic, FLUBBER explodes on the screen, fusing adventure, eye-popping visual effects, and the gravity-defying comic genius of Robin Williams. The resulting concoction is a hilarious adventure for all ages. Brilliant but befuddled Professor Phillip Brainard (Williams) is on the brink of inventing a revolutionary energy source and missing his wedding to fiancée Dr. Sara Jean Reynolds (Marcia Gay Harden) — president of financially challenged Medfield College — for the third time! When Phillip experiments with his own big bang theory, a miraculous elastic good — Flubber — emerges, leaving him ecstatic, but unmarried! Phillip and his flying cyber sidekick, Weebo, soon discover that Flubber, applied to anything, enables it to bounce super high and fast. However, many questions remain. Is Flubber good enough to win Sara back, save Medfield from its financial problems, and slip through the hands of the evil financier who is bankrolling the college? FLUBBER slips, slides, giggles, glides, flips, and flies — the stuff of surefire family entertainment. Now you can bring home Disney’s box office hit that’s two parts innovation, three parts imagination, and “100% pure fun!” (CNN)|Many of the film’s special effects were produced in huge Building Three at the Treasure Island Naval Base off San Francisco. With 90,000 square feet of space, the producers were able to create the professor’s basement laboratory, the interior of the team’s locker room, and a 2,500-seat basketball stadium, all under one roof at one time.|Differing from the original film (THE ABSENT-MINDED PROFESSOR), this time Flubber is given a personality of its own. Mischievous and uncontrollable, it creates havoc everywhere.
As you probably already know, Flubber is green. With him being green, we wanted to go with a green food theme for this movie. We even found some Jell-O so that it would look like Flubber. This is definitely a movie I was very excited to share with my daughters. I absolutely love Robin Williams and all of his movies. This was always a favorite of mine too. I thought my daughters may enjoy this one because of Flubber. He’s adorable!
Flubber is such an amazing movie. I was actually really excited when I remembered this movie. This was a movie that I loved while growing up, and I was so excited to be able to share that with my daughters. I’m so glad that I was able to watch this one again. I truly love all Robin Williams movies. RIP to him, as he was an amazing actor.
Have you ever seen this movie before? I feel like this was a movie that many of us did see. If you haven’t seen this one yet, I do highly recommend seeing it, especially if you like Robin Williams. I would say this is a great one to see with the family. You can even grab your own copy off AMAZON if you’d like.

Oh gosh, I’m so old that I remember seeing this in theaters. I need to watch it again! I also love Robin Williams.
Right! Such a wonderful movie.
Flubber is such a great movie to add to your list! I love most anything with Robin Williams. Good call with the green foods, especially the Jello lol
Same!! He is such a good actor.
What a fun trip down memory lane. I absolutely loved your playful breakdown of Flubber (the 1997 version). Your enthusiasm about the zany physics, Robin Williams’ comic timing, and all the gooey flying bits makes me want to pop some popcorn and watch it again tonight.
It really is a wonderful movie. I loved seeing it again.
This was such a good movie. I love all the green food that you made for the movie.
Right! One of my favorites.
Oh wow, I remember seeing this ages ago! It is fun to look back and reminisce. Both with Robin Williams as the main character, and it is also fun to see special effects from back then. This was such a fun movie!
Yes! I always loved this movie too.
I hate to admit this…. but I ahve never seen this film and I hate that as I am a huge fan of Robin Williams and his movies. I will be checking this one out for our next family movie night 😉
Hopefully you can see it soon. I’m a huge fan of his as well.
